Gary heads up our European practice. During his 14 years in executive search and selection, Gary has helped dozens of high growth North American & European technology ventures identify and attract world-class CEO, COO, and VP candidates. Many of his clients have also engaged Gary to recruit their initial entrepreneurial sales and business development talent in Europe to drive ambitious international revenue growth.

Gary has performed searches for ventures funded by top-tier VCs like Intel Capital, Qualcomm Ventures, Accel Partners, Sequoia and Charles River Ventures. Several of Gary’s clients, leveraging the bottom line impact of the talent he recruited, have achieved high returns for their founders and investors – e.g. Mobicomp, Oz Communications and Arieso were acquired by MSFT, Nokia and JDSU respectively.

Gary is renowned for his ability to unearth world-class talent, to qualify candidates rigorously, and to deliver a high quality shortlist well ahead of the agreed project milestones. Most of his searches arise from repeat business with former clients or referrals from clients and candidates: he demonstrably and consistently delivers high quality, high impact results.

Prior to co-founding an executive search and selection practice, Gary enjoyed a successful career at Lucent Technologies. Responsible for Lucent’s partnerships with European Internet startups, Gary gained exposure to the strategic and tactical challenges faced by early stage technology companies. This insight, combined with a far-reaching network of contacts and a rigorous search and selection process, enable Gary to expedite international searches for talented, entrepreneurial individuals who deliver sustainable growth to early stage technology ventures.

Gary, an enthusiastic contributor to the European venture community, has supported several leading startup programs as a mentor, panelist and expert reviewer including Astia, Innovate!Europe, The European Venture Academy and The Guardian’s Tech Media Invest 100.

Gary enjoys sharing his passion for fine European wines and gourmet foods with his colleagues, clients and candidates. In his spare time, Gary and his young family engage in a diversity of sports, notably hockey, tennis and rugby, and frequently travel off the beaten track to explore international destinations and cultures.
